Tom believes that urban design is more than just individual projects–they create a better place, meet the needs of communities, and should be developed in a way that makes the built environment sustainable. Responsible for land development, Tom has served as project manager and/or technical advisor for the development of various residential, institutional, commercial, industrial and mixed-use projects.
Tom has served as the project manager for the 10-year conversion of Fort Drum into a residential community which has been developed incrementally with an eye toward future smart growth and sustainability. He has coordinated complex civil and site design and assists with guiding the projects through the approval process. Tom said that “[his] goal is to not only focus on the agency, community and sustainability requirement of a project, but to ensure the needs of the users are meet and taken into account from initial planning through completion and beyond.”
